the fact would remain that one guy killed another because he was being beaten in

I care about civil rights and always have. You are destroying the movement by raising this false scenario as the platform for civil rights activism. The same thing happened to the women's movement when the liberal establishment decided to back Clinton's abuses of power. Where was N.O.W. then, where is it now? History is about to repeat itself now.

The conditions in black upban gettos are dreadfully unequal to the conditions of white suburban areas and we all know it. This interferes in an unequal way to the potential for a black person living there to achieve and prosper in a decent and law abiding manner. When efforts are not made to correct these conditions, the civil rights of the victims of violent urban culture are denied. It is a deadly virus robbing millions of their potential.

A genuine civil rights case would be one brought to force the government to adopt effective measures to correct this horrid injustice, because it would be a dramatic step designed to improve the civil rights of minorities.

It would require bold leadership, willing to confront real injustice head on. We don't seem to have that. We have you idiots persecuting a decent neighborhood watch guy who was viciously attacked by someone involved in gangsta culture. It is enabling and encouraging the very serious violent urban street culture. This could be bringing a death blow to the civil rights movement.
