Hi Patrick--I don't believe that we have chatted before

I have been following your posts however and trying to see what there is in terms of your approach in relation to times as opposed to levels, that I can use in terms of my own trading.

I saw your posts on another thread re withdrawing from this thread and wanted to respond in part, because I have something of a sensitivity regarding anyone feeling unwelcome on any thread and wanted to welcome you personally. I also wanted to offer you my two cents about this thread and the dynamics that I have observed.

These excerpts are from the other thread:

>>As a newcomer to that thread I occasionally felt I was being grilled.

I understand exactly what you are saying and can relate to your likely reaction. I have participated on this thread almost since its inception and it has evolved and continues to do so. In early days the entire discussion centered around buying options and there were just four people who sold naked options--only two are left of the original four--namely, Judy and myself. Later others were enamored of this approach. More recently there has been an interest in index options, systems development and trading. Now there is a growing interest in futures trading.

There have been times when it has been first rate and at other times it has lost its provocative style. What I have found throughout is a genuine desire to help others and to challenge people who post -- in part to understand what it is that they are posting and also to assess how "real" someone is. It happens to everyone to one degree or the other and once you get to know that players and the dynamics of the thread you will feel less bothered by this. But believe me that it goes on all the time and no one is immune from this.

>>there is a lot of discussion off topic just as there is here

Even this takes getting used to -- there was a time when it used to put me off -- now I find that I am one of the culprits:)

>>Personally however I am not getting much out of it so staying off the thread is not a bad suggestion<<

This is obviously a call that each person has to make -- all I would like is to ensure that you don't leave the thread as a result of a misunderstanding.

Good trading
