Yes I am also looking for more information. Here is a link to a South African business newspaper but it does not have much good info on SAB.

bday.co.za

I cannot find out what the PE or earnings growth rate is. From reading in the SA press I see that they are getting stiff competion in SA from Namibia Breweries, but SAB still has over 90% market share. Also they are aggressively buying breweries throughout Africa, Eastern Europe, and China. SAB is the world's 4th largest brewery. I'd buy a small position in the stock if I could see the company's fundamentals.

I also see that SAB is planning to divest a good deal of it's non-beverage business (about 1/3 of it's expenses are in non-beverage, stores, etc - but the non-beverage businesses do not contribute much to it's earnings)

Keep in touch and we'll see wht we can find.

If you check out the Johannesberg Market you will see that it has been in a nosedive that parallels SAB. I think the main risk is the exchange rate between the Rand and the US dollar.

The Rand has gone from about 4.7/1 US dollar this past Jan to 4.4/1 in March and is now down to about 4.9 to $1.00. A great site for exchange rates:

I did buy one other SA company mentioned in the article you refer to :

First South Africa Corp.
