Silver Investments ... Stocks - Silver Standard (SSO-V) and Avino Silver and Gold Mines (ASM-V) MS/66 Morgan silver dollars (currently about $190, with a 1989 high of $1450). $1000 face pre-1964 silver coins (not really an investment, except in the case of a complete collapse and loss of confidence in the fiat dollar). No options, no futures ... Its just a matter of time for silver, in the past if warehouse stocks had become so depleted, silver would have rocketed long ago. It may be that gold is behaving like a ball and chain around silver, or perhaps people remember how the exchange modified the rules of the game in 1980 and dont really want to play any more? In any event, about 80% of silver production comes from gold, copper, zinc mining etc; and gold and copper in the toilet (I dont know about the others); and curtailing production; this will hasten the shortage of silver. This thread will pick up when silver breaks $6.00 ... I think silver can easily go to $10.00 to $12.00; and because it is such a thin market; a mania could develop with the help of manipulators taking physical silver off the market. Then ??? who knows. If silver can go to $50 in 1980 ... how high is that in '97 dollars. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Parlay silever profits to gold profits just in time for .... the next oil crisis. Then I can retire!? Happy investing.
