I think Larry won this one on points. Why I remain independent even with my total disgust with the far right. Too many issues in the world . Not everything is so black and white as some make it out to be

But yet, its Elder who is making the issue black and white. And is so angry, he can't have a reasonable discussion with Piers........instead he over talks him every inch of the way. On top of that, he doesn't see any gray. Blacks are causing their current problems; whites have nothing to do with it. So............blacks have to take responsibility for their bad behavior. That's the meme that righties like Elder promote. And whites love it because here is a black man absolving them of any culpability..........which is unadulterated horseshit.

I am a liberal but that doesn't mean I don't see things clearly. Yeah, blacks hurt themselves......most crime in the ghetto is black on black crime. No one is forcing blacks to take drugs.........nor is anyone telling black fathers to leave their families or to have multiple kids. But if that reality leads any white person to think they don't have a stake in this game and that they bear no responsibility, then I've got lots of bridges to sell them.

Whites brought blacks to this country and subjugated them in slavery for over a century. And after that was stopped............blacks faced another century of discrimination. If any white or black asshole doesn't think that that bad behavior [by whites] will have a serious impact on the mass psyche of any race, they are FOS. This generation of Americans is paying the price for the BS perpetrated by our forefathers........who were not the nicest of people......far from it.

And let me make clear to you, John, as a white liberal I do not have one iota of guilt about what went on in this country prior to the 20th century because quite frankly, my family did not participate in the BS. Why I care at all is because racism and the black underclass that exists in this country today hurts all of us and hurts this country in multiple ways. It infects all aspects of our culture and undermines us on numerous levels. It helped lead to the killing of an innocent teen, T. Martin. Its got to stop if we hope to truly become the country we claim we are.

One last comment.............Elder is totally unfair when he accuses Morgan of ignoring Chicago. Both Morgan and Cooper have had several programs on the killings in Chicago. In fact, I have seen no other media outside of Chicago bring the issue up as much as those two.
