I dont believe ATP will have the financial resources to mount a suit against BP and any law firm that takes the case on a contingency faces years of litigation from a company with the deepest of pockets against those who don't have the same. This could well bankrupt many even well funded law firms. Those guys wont take the chance. At the end of the day, it was the Govt. that shut down drilling in the Gulf, and caused (hard to prove) damages to ATP, not BP. I wouldn't bet a nickel that ATP would prevail in such a suit.
