We need to get over our fears......both sides do........it is hurting this country.

Why do we have to take sides? I constantly bash the Jerry Springer type mentality going on in disfunctional homes and rough communities of basic survival in both white and black America. I will also say it is natural to be more guarded around young men of any race who look, walk or behave in a manner you might feel could be threatening to you.

It would be natural if young men of any race had the same impact on white adults. However, whites typically fear young men who are brown and black; whites not so much. That is not natural........that's racial bias.

It is the reality of our violent, crime ridden society. Yes agree with you many kids in the roughest neighborhoods need more attention and positive role models to keep them from going in the wrong direction. Kids in the burbs of all races have it much easier, see folks working, family staying together, are not exposed to the elements when in a very good school district We see a lot of that here in FL but majority of districts are not like this unfortunately. No surprise in these better districts the Wall Street money has been buying up the home supply forcing prices skyward and equity/consumption patterns way up while everybody in the poorer sections feels even further behind..

We need to spend probably $50-100K per kid to end the the poverty cycle in this country. There is no way Rs would support such a program.
