7/26/13 Contest Update
Although the Biotech Bubble sprang some leaks this week, notably SRPT, the damage was mostly limited. And at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 38.56% YTD (vs. up 41.92% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 43.39% (vs. up 42.34% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 19.66% YTD (vs. up 18.81% YTD a week ago).
Contest leader, BLADE’s portfolio, picked up a few more percent and finished the week with a 106.39% YTD gain. But boosted by GENT second place RKRW’s portfolio, up 103.97% YTD, is still very much in contention. FILO’s portfolio, up 88.40% YTD, held on to third place.
At Friday's close, all 39 Contest portfolios remained in the black with 17 of the 39 beating the NBI.
