>> You should know by now we live in a police state and the two party system is totally corrupted.
The two party system isn't "corrupted." It is the people who are in the two parties. There seems to be a tendency on your part to misplace blame for the behavior of individuals on related organizations (the two party system, corporations).
Organizations aren't corrupt. At worst, they can encourage corruption of individuals, but ultimately, corruption lies with the individuals who engage in it.
Barack Obama is corrupt and many of the people with whom he associates are corrupt. But the two-party system works as well or better than alternatives because the institutions are NOT inherently corrupt. If the US were to move toward dictatorship at this point no one to the right of Koan would think that's a good idea.
As countries go, the US experiences relatively low levels of corruption even though we have a corrupt administration in power largely because our politicians continue to be accountable. While Obama was successful in getting himself reelected, he still has to face the political consequences of his actions. The corrupt enactment of ACA, for example, even three years hence, is facing substantial opposition. While it has become law, numerous politicians have paid for that vote with their careers and some will next year.
Your unbridled cynicism may feel right to you, but condemning the system is not a solution. At this point, there needs to be more awareness amongst voters and I don't know how you get that, but I'm pretty sure deeming the entire system to be corrupt isn't the way. |
