The thing about Alinsky and his book is that any successful organization is going to follow at least some of its principles. Based on the actions, you can make a case that Alinsky heavily influenced the Tea Party. After all Freedomworks gives out copies of it to its leadership.

I think that it is very safe to say that the Tea Party has heavily influenced the Tea Party. The phrase "know thine enemy" should be used in this case. I believe one of the basic ideas of the rules for radicals is to use the opposition's own philosophical foundation against it. In this case, some of the rules for radicals are good ideas.

What the liberals haven't figured out yet is that they are "The Man". The radicals are the tea partiers and conservatives. While Obama, Holder, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton and all the rest are pretending to be activists, the reality is that liberals are the establishment.

The difference between conservative activists and liberal activists is that conservatives want to build a structure that encourages freedom and wealth for the most possible individuals and liberals don't care about freedom and want everybody to have the same amount of wealth, except for the liberal leaders who get to live like kings.

Young people are easy to mobilize. They are looking naturally looking for something to rebel against. How long do you think it will take them to figure out who the cronies of "crony capitalism" are giving their money to?
