I'm pretty sure WND was trying to smear him for getting the Iraq war right. Look at the way the article is constructed. It has those "quotes," note that they say "McDermott reportedly said," followed by his real quote saying "“I think the president would mislead the American people,” in reference to how Bush was misleading us into war, and he was 100% correct. -Z
