<<Analysts that may or may not
judge us worthy of the information.>>
They surely judge you as not worthy of it if you are not a client of their firm. If you are, you get only bits and pieces and at whatever time they decide to get around to conveying it, if at all. Incredibly, one of the most influential analysts to follow Quantum has not bothered to issue an update following the last analyst's meeting at Comdex, where material information was conveyed because, as my broker tells it, "everyone already knows how he feels about the disk drive industry". Between this outragous example and the inane downgrade of all remaining disk drive stocks by H & Q, Quantum management should be awakened to the pathetic, incomplete and cavalier coverage provided by analysts. Additionally, managements need to recognize that many people no longer have any brokerage relationship other than a discount broker or a firm which does not provide coverage. With the advances of the internet, the day is not far off when all material info is required to be available to all. A progressive company, concerned about its shareholders, and especially one in the computer industry would do well be on the leading edge of this inevitable trend.
