Judith, good post. Several thoughts:
1) Company just got $7m in financing. Whoever provided this money
probably asked the company to focus its energies on its most
profitable opportunities. Thus the reorg and focus on telecomm.
2) Frank has planted alot of seeds. Some sprouted and some didn't.
Nothing wrong with diversification as long as a company doesn't try
to overextend itself or burn all its cash. And when one of those
seeds starts to grow like a beanstalk, a good businessperson needs to
cut and run with that great idea. Other ideas/projects might have
great merit, but may require resources and attention which could be
better spent elsewhere.
3) I think many of us were optimisticaly hoping for stronger revenues
this quarter end. But I think the numbers merely reflect the course
Frank has stated in his President's message. The other ventures were
not panning out as planned (and clearly some of the news releases
were meant to generate press & capitalize on a particular situation,
eg. AOL). Frank has only recently posted his message to
shareholders, but IMHO he's had the company on this course
for a number of months. Thus, a lack of follow-up on cerain other
news items.
4) Don't lose faith and continue to share your thoughts...they have
provoked some good discussion on this thread.
