Chirodoc,
I go out of town a couple of days and we start talking about hamsters and pond scum. Now I don't feel so bad about your and my divergence into international trade and deregulation.

My 2 cents worth of gold advice (wouldn't pay more than a penney for it) is similar to George's. With inflation low in the industrialized (read people with money in their pockets to buy) world and currency rates in those countries remaining relatively stable and the market giving 25%++ returns, there is no reason to buy gold as a hedge.

Starting to look like I'm going to have to eat crow on the $20 EOY price prediction. I speculate Xoma will close out the year near $6.
