Koan wants it, but you do, too. You are constantly advocating government getting in the affairs of business, just as your links show.

This comment is a misunderstanding on your part -- both of the role of lawmakers and of lobbying organizations.
Lobbying is an essential component of lawmaking. Of course it can be overdone and sometimes it is. But you can't do away with it. You can't have idiot congresspeople drafting legislation on complicated subjects like banking, GMOs, or health care (Obamacare is an excellent example of what happens when they tried -- an absolute disaster was created, and now we're stuck with it).
It comes down to who you trust -- government, or business. And I'll take business every time -- from having spent years of dealing with government agencies, I know how they operate and they are just bad at what they do. Business may have its shortcomings, but there IS accountability that government lacks. There are some functions that should be provided by government (e.g., running prisons) that go to shit when business gets involved. But for the most part, business will perform better than government just about every time (once again, health care finance is an example, but there are tons of them).
You are constantly proposing that business ought to be more heavily regulated, which is tantamount to saying we need more government. So, as I've pointed out, your positions are totally inconsistent with what you actually write here. |
