The BMW i3 has a range of 100 miles at a price tag of slightly above $41 K while Tesla's top model has a range of 300 miles with a price tag of about $95 K. BMW does offer range extender options. One is a gas powered engine that acts as a charger for the battery and the other is the ADD ON MOBILITY plan that allows i3 owners usage of gas powered BMWs for a specified amount of time.
