Four out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near-poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives, a sign of deteriorating economic security and an elusive American dream.

That is not far from my real life experiences here in FL post financial collapse... credit shot, no cash, too many paycheck to paycheck if not on the dole.. I think you've got like 3 to 5 out of a thousand (at best half of one percent?) the super wealthy beyond belief. The rest of the top 5% is doing incredibly well with high net worth, lots of toys, lots of vacations and cash flow to sustain it. Then you got the next 5-7% doing well but unable to save much or invest and are in debt slavery in McMansion hell. The balance of the top 20% also solid middle to higher end of middle class professional or trade with some net worth and safety net to fall back on.. I would guess your current day Seattle is not the norm for most of the country..
