Pancho, RE: ALYD. I see you've been kicked around a little on the ALYD thread. I know the feeling<g>! I don't think ALYD is a scam (maybe I'm missing something). But it is an excellent short.

They are projecting '98 revenues in excess of $50M and '99 revenues >$100M. Even if they meet these projections, they don't come close to justifying their market cap! And of course, management has consistently fallen short of expectations.

They do have a $50M backlog. They do run ads in the right magazines like InformationWeek. Still, I will short ALYD as soon as Schwab permits me!

RE: Long/short/cash mix. You reported something like 97% long, 3% cash, 66% short. This is confusing to me. I have always looked at my account as (Long + Cash - Short) = 100%. An example would be: 70% Long, 50% Cash, 20% short. 70% + 50% - 20% = 100%! Perhaps you could clarify.
Best Regards, Bill
