tdfx getting fab capacity so late into 4th quarter on a nonmicrosoft "opengl" architecture chip for 3d graphics is unusual. This means other bigger companies using the same fab have pulled out as they expect lower volumes of integrated chips (to be sold) in first qtr 98.In Jan or Feb 98, the majority holders (e.g., venture capitalists) will be expected to reduce their exposure due to restrictions coming off after 6 months of IPO. Better to be careful going into Q1 98.
