He's not vocalizing anything new here, you note how the subject comes up more & more as part of the popular lexicon? You'll also note that Christianity remains the strongest today in those ex-colonial states like Brazil, Mexico, South America & Africa, where the belief in magic can be seen as still fresh in those respective emerging cultures & minds of those people . Which would make perfect sense of the appeal in the magical iconography, but as poverty is lifted & education expands with exposure to science increasing , such hold wanes & lessoned. (Evolution)
