>Another straw man. I never said they're not accomplishments because I don't like them. I said that most of his "accomplishments" were already fait accompli or just plain spin.

It wasn't a straw man. It was a supposition. Because...

" I said that most of his "accomplishments" were already fait accompli or just plain spin."....

... just isn't true.

I didn't want to have to do this, because it's a pain in my ass, but here goes...

1. Passed Health Care Reform

We've both agreed that this is an accomplishment.

2. Passed the Stimulus

You didn't want him to, and I didn't think it was big enough, but it's an accomplishment.

3. Passed Wall Street Reform

Wasn't as good as it could've been, but it's an accomplishment.

4. Ended the War in Iraq

An accomplishment.

5. Began Drawdown of War in Afghanistan

Yup.

6. Eliminated Osama bin laden

Did in two years what his predecessor couldn't do in seven.

7. Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry

Sure seems that way.

8. Recapitalized Banks

Didn't love the way he did it, and he did it with help from the previous administration, but it is an accomplishment.

9. Repealed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

Yup.

10. Toppled Moammar Gaddafi

Just when the previous administration had made buddies with it! Whatever his actions or inactions, it was accomplished without us bombing the shit out of a whole country the way the last administration would've been inclined to do...

And so on...

>They've succeeded in getting the sequester through, which is helping to reduce the deficit and restore what little confidence remained in the the government's fiscal matters.

Whose confidence exactly? Not the hundreds of thousands or millions of Americans who have lost their jobs, seen their pay cuts, or their services reduced as a result.

And you show a complete misunderstanding of what the sequester was meant to do. It was supposed to be a deal that was supposed to hold until the election was over, and then the winner of the election was supposed to replace it with their agenda. I guess if negotiating in bad faith counts as an accomplishment, then OK. They got ONE.
