| | | Fascism is a authoritarian, right-wing nationalistic philosophy
You’re among many who’ve long been subject to The Big Lie.
Fascism belongs on the extreme left of the spectrum and is antithetical to our founding ideals where an authoritarian state was anathema.
It differs from its close cousin Communism in allowing the illusion of private ownership, but not control, of property.
When the German fascisti were rioting wearing brown shirts and the Communists red there was a common saying among the former; “First red, then brown”. They knew the differences in ideologies were superficial. That later came unglued, largely over Hitler’s demand for Lebensraum.
Today American Democrats hew closely to Fascist prescriptions, Republicans less so – at least rhetorically.
The former, stewed for a century in evil, are probably beyond redemption. The likes of Cruz, Amash, Paul, et al, imply some hope for the latter.

These realities were once hard for me to swallow, too. A looooong time with your nose in books might offer you surprises and entry into reality. |
