We give them less than one tenth of a percent of our annual budget, and I'd bet more than half of that gets spent on buying stuff from us.
When the oh-so-harsh sequester is just 2-3% of the budget, one tenth of a percent is actually pretty significant.

I know you don't want to defend aid to Egypt on the basis of it being "stimulus" for our military industrial complex. Nice try, though.
There may be no solution we can really bring about. We can't solve every problem in every other country. I'm just happy we're not flinging bombs about.
Once again, you're just tossing up distractions.

Few people think we can solve Egypt's problems via the leverage we hold with the aid. Plus that wasn't the original purpose of the aid anyway.

No one is talking about flinging bombs in Egypt. Not even the most warmongering of Republicans.

I would prefer at least something more definitive than denial and "Miss America" declarations for peace and stability in the region. This is a clear case where inaction is not the best action to take, especially since we're seeing the results of weakness and waffling. Obama ends up in very compromising positions with regard to Morsi, the Egyptian military, and all of the violence and human rights violations that are happening there.
