"The issue from a legal persepctive after discussion with VSE surveillance and our lawyers would appear inter alia to be the disclosure of information which has not been released."
This post;
exchange2000.com
....surprised me with two points; The first being that the SEC considers SI to be sufficiently public to allow posting information here first, it is "public disclosure". Which seems to me logical, the internet becoming central to individual investors, and SI being the premier forum. My surprise was only at their speed at recognizing it as such. The VSE is much stricter, I know, it could be a while before they allow first posting of material information here. Maybe I'll email them Jeffry's post.... Do you know anyone over there?
Jeffry's other point, even more surprising, is that he believes company reps should not post to "regular threads". I don't know why he thinks that, I'll go over and ask him shortly. If you've read the posts above in this thread, you'll know that I'm one of many who feel strongly that when company reps post here in an open and honest manner, this is a Good Thing, even a Great Thing. (that was kind of cute today on the Steppe thread when that guy accused you of being a company plant and you replied "I THOUGHT I MADE IT CLEAR THAT I AM THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY" -g- .....you stated that clearly in your first post, #68, and in many since, it's front and centre in the website and all news releases. You could put it in your bio and cut down on those accusations, but then we'd miss the humour.....
What do you think of these for guidelines for company reps on SI?
1. Tell us who you are.
2. Beware of the animals (Dave Webb's suggestion, and a good one, imho).
3. Tell the truth.
4. Never give investment advice. (Or make comments on market action, the "under-valued-ness" of the stock, etc... if only for the reason that anything you say on the subject will be suspect, you can't represent the company and be seen to be objective. For that you need an anonyme ;-)
Thanks for the post, John ......... hasta la pr¢xima ....... marcos |
