For a while the libs were afraid of electromagnetic radiation from power lines and cell phones but most of that seems to have died away.
The power lines controversy was a huge one back in the 80's, and even today the fear still lingers even though the "science" that created the controversy in the first place has been completely debunked.

Global warming, of course, is a lot broader in context. It stands to reason that 6 billion humans on Earth are going to have a collective effect on the environment, which is why the science behind global warming can never be fully debunked.

But the alarmism that has resulted from the science has turned the whole environmentalist movement into a religious cult. Even Bentway, who fancies himself as a "devil's advocate," would never advocate an action that could harm Mother Earth for future civilizations.
