Over the weekend, I checked out a demo of Time Warner's "Roadrunner" cable Internet access. It seemed that the access time to find a site was slower than my traditional Internet connection, but once the connection was made, the data just zoomed. 3.5 hours to download IE4.0 from Microsoft on a 28.8 modem, only 5 minutes using the Roadrunner service!

All of Time Warner's current hook-ups require a cable modem (not sure who makes this) and a 3COM Ethernet card. If Time Warner decided to go with COMS, perhaps others will too?
