Its an American problem. This country has developed a persistent underclass in which poverty is passed down from one generation to the next. The parents don't attend parent/teacher conferences because their parents didn't attend teacher/ parent conferences.

Until this country is ready to really end the underclass, it will persist and the Pine Bluffs of the country will continue to be steeped in poverty and crime.

So, thanks Mr. Obama? Or what? We've spent more taxpayer money on anti-poverty programs than any country in existence. Probably more than all other countries combined. Hundreds of billions annually. And where has it gotten us then?

It was never enough. Inner city schools are the worst in the nation. In most cities, teachers don't make squat. If we spent as much on our underclass as we do on wars or foreign aid, the US would not have an underclass.

I would think even the most logically disconnected individuals would comprehend we need to try something else. But like all government programs, it is on auto-pilot at this point.

Yes, the most logically disconnected.............Rs..........think something else needs to be done. They really don't what to fo........in fact, they just don't want to do anything.
