This morning Fleetmatics (FLTX) announced another big jump in earnings. This stock has been a rocket to the moon.
It is the only pure play, public company that I can find in the fleet management business competeing with Vecima.
Their market strategy, however, is to sign up the small-midsize business (SMB), unlike Vecima's apparent effort
to enlist big customers. The telematics biz is growing like crazy & if Kumar can get his sales team on the right track, there
could be a huge payoff. I remain concerned that he's entered this game too late. His remark that he would "leapfrog"
the competition, presumably with a better product (the rule is to be twice as good at half the price) will I hope not prove to be a baseless boast. jh
