Service Provider Customers Offer Positive Reaction to New Frame Relay Module

ALAMEDA, CALIF. (Dec. 8) BUSINESS WIRE -Dec. 8, 1997--Ascend
Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASND) released reaction from service
providers on its announcement made today of four new modules for its
B-STDX Multiservice Frame Relay 8000/9000 WAN switches and to the
company's recent shipment of over one million Frame Relay WAN switch
