TO ALL: Great post Raleigh! The following is a long post. Suffice it to say the meeting and plan was positive in my opinion. It was positive for both FTEL and DCTC - - - BUT most importantly it was extremely positive for FNET. I have been getting caught up on rest and I've been reading the Franklin Internet Brochure that Franklin Internet has available for distribution. Anybody who wants one should call Franklin Telecom (FTEL)at (805) 373-8688.
This document/brochure speaks basically about the FNET service as it stood at the time it went to press. It is impressive and you can get a good vision from it IF you have done your homework. If you do get it remember as you read that Frank Peters apparently plays his cards very close to the chest and lays them on the table when it is time. By all means do your homework. I never stop.
The following is my opinion:
By the way, I do not consider reading any public thread on the Internet and calling that your homework. It is my opinion that many people do just that then they put money into a company and do not understand their own investment. They panic when they should be celebrating. Then they become beligerent because they are mad at themselves. This is sad for them but it is their mistake. Further, it is not entirely fair for those who do work diligently to be expected to be at the beck and call of those who want to "ride on their backs". My first rule of investing is that "it is good to read but it is better to understand". Enough said.
This brochure appears to be a sales brochure to advertise FNET to potential customers or ISP's. After reading this brochure in it's entirity, I am more convinced than ever that we are looking at a MAJOR oppportunity here.
DCTC has some good plans on the stove and they really seem to have the savvy to implement them. I was satisfied with the DCTC management and Mr. Adams layed it all out as he spoke in very concise terms. I like both companies. SEE RALEIGH'S POST THIS DATE. However, I love the prospects of FNET which is the main reason DCTC and FTEL are getting attention now and will get more attention as time goes on.
I refuse to engage in the open debate of which is the better investment. This debate is useless, distracting, and harmful to FNET. INHO it is rather stupid from a business standpoint. My investment dollars talk on that subject for me, my mouth and my keyboard are out of it.
I want to be invested in FNET as heavily as possible. I do not want to trade it, I want to invest in it and there is a difference. Every hot idea gets the attention of traders (that isn't news)! However not every idea hits that hot button in a long term investor. In the short term the traders win - fine, I do not mind it as it is the nature of the beast. BUT, in the long haul the long term investor usually ends up with the biggest piece of the pie. You see, the trader cut his pie up and eats it fast. Traders usually settle for quick reward while investors go after much bigger things.
Enough on that subject
Now combining what DCTC unveiled to us at the meeting (most of which has been posted here on SI) with the following technology products and or services of FTEL:
FTEL Routers, Channel Banks, Boards, T1, The Hurricane/155 which moves data at speeds referred to as Fast Ethernet or 155 Megabits per second for LAN's (Local Area Networks), The Cyclone, and the Datacom Line Cards, proprietary software, and the Network Control Center.
FTEL Add to the mix a telecom company with what I believe to be a rather good reputation for a company it's size. I have run up on several Electronics afficiandos who are familiar with Franklin.
FTEL Add to the mix a desire to market the services as shown in this latest Franklin Internet Brochure.
FTEL Add to the mix Internet service to LAN/WANS at the present rate of 1.5 Megabits per second (As a comparison realize that 28.8 KPS is kilobits per second there is a huge difference).
FTEL Add to the mix a voice server which allows pot to pot across the internet.
Add DCTC's plans, with FTEL/FNET and ....................
Well, what do we have? In my opinion I believe we have the ultimate information tool for any business. Yes, I said ultimate. Fnet will be in my opinion one of the premier Technolgy companies of the late 1990's and on into the next century. Where do you think these businesses who subscribe to FNET are going to get the products they need to implement and upgrade their own network's hardware? Do you think they will think of Franklin? I do. At this point I believe many businesses will sign up to FNET as a weapon against their own competition. Why? because they can save dollars to the bottom line and get supreme informational services at the same time. We know they (businesses both large and small) are heading to the internet big time we see the url's being advertised daily on TV. Why would they go with a local do nothing but hook you up ISP when they can hook up to FNET? That is the bottom line to the whole FNET deal in my opinion.
Picture this: You need transportation so you go to a car rental agency for a rental they have two cars both at $15.95 a day one is a new Yugo and one is a new Roll Royce with all of the options. Both are transportation aren't they? Both cost the same but deliver different service. Of course most would say Roll Royce.
The same will apply as the business community makes it's travel arrangements for the information highway or the Internet. I believe they will want to get there in style and get the most for their dollars. What do you think? Now, I had some individuals with me at the meeting in Dayton, (including my husband) that know business; yet they have never even been on the internet to the best of my knowledge. They liked the proposal very much and both indicated that this seems like a serious deal one said "these guys seem committed to their ideas and getting this FNET deal done". Both thought the market potential would be tremendous. I consider both of them as savvy people who understand the art of business and negotiation, and are expert at it (IMHO). I think these guys were impressed that I had found this and had given them an opportunity to look it over. They did not get negative about any of the acqusitions of DCTC in relationship to FTEL, they saw it as covering the bases up front and not later. They saw what FNET can be and they met MGT of DCTC they thought were committed. I have got other friends whom I respect that I haven't even exposed to the idea. I plan to expose them though.
I stated in the meeting that I did not think the FNET proposal would be ignored by venture capitalists as a bad idea. I still believe that. I believe vc's will want very badly to swing a deal. I believe this FNET thing is going to happen. I want to be there to see it to fruition and the meeting did nothing except to convince me I was on the right track.
Look there is no medicine for fear; zip, nada, goose egg. Physicians can operate and cut your guts out but they cannot operate and put new guts in. The moral is don't lose your guts! <VBG>
I am not new to this thread. I've been watching these FTEL related threads for months. I contacted FTEL last spring and DCTC last spring. I didn't just land here on a load of turnips. I was looking for and found a good deal IMHO.
My decision to invest here was a business decision in every sense of the word. I am more committed to my decisions now than ever. I am looking forward to getting some excellent rewards to compensate me for both my hard work and stress and that is my personal bottom line. I can advise you that I myself am not considered a failure by my peers. In fact I work hard enough to become successsful in whatever I get involved with. I do not like to mess with junk or losers. My time is too valuable.
Now those rewards may take a while to get and I may have days that I simply could pull my hair out, but I believe I will be successful and I have the guts to see it through. You see I know for a fact that there are plenty enough people like me who have what it takes to help this FNET plan get to fruition. They will come in and carry the ball to end of the field for any player who can't finish the game.
Now, I can tell anyone interested if they like this thread, police it or I think the thread is going to lose some of the talented contributors which are praised then burned at the stake then praised again. I am saying this as an observation. There are more ways for people to share information on this subject than here. Some people on this thread can afford to implement an alternate source where they can share, including email or going on-line with a members only web site strictly dedicated to the FTEL/FNET/DCTC plan. That would entail some dollars but it can be done and rather quickly too because I myself checked into it today. I though it rather cruel to treat those that took their time to go the meeting like they were garbage. A dog won't bite the hands that feeds him.
Well, as you can tell I am pretty serious about this FTEL/FNET and DCTC thing. I do not plan to fail nor do I fail to plan. I want everyone here to make as much money as possible and relate to each other with dignity and respect. If I am asking too much, please let me know in a professional way.
In closing I hope we can stop this "craziness" (which was trumped up by a few who didn't attend) after the meeting. They probably got over excited while undereducated about their investment. If there is another meeting maybe this will not happen again. The meeting was fine. The meeting is over. The deal hasn't changed and is still on the table. Let's move on to the next thing on the plate. Will the Web site security company be announced this week?
The above are my opinions.
With best wishes for success and regards to all,
Debra Watson
PS: The most important meetings regard FNET (IMHO) will be in the future as they haven't even happened yet. |
