Actually, that "obvious" fact isn't true, it is just another RW slant trying to blame FRE and FNM, as well as of course Frank and Dodd. I'll try to remember to look up one of the several articles that discussed it later on.

I await your research. In any event, Obama wants to phase our Fannie and Freddie so as to get the government our of the "guaranteeing" of mortgage loans--or least that is my understanding of his reason.
