"ticked off the majority of Iraq's population"

Oh, yeah, that would have been horrible. NOT if we had put somebody in there that we CONTROLLED and the economy did better and everybody (both Sunni and Shia) were treated well.

The problem with our foreign policy is it's HALF-ASSED.

When we went into Japan we wrote their constitution and STAYED there to see it was put into effect.

NOW, if we take over a country we have to give control over to the WILL of their people as soon as possible. That gives us "tinpot" dictators like Karzai that don't even listen to us and STILL we have to PAY them MILLIONS.

If we TAKE a country we should KEEP it for a while. Otherwise we're just spending TRILLIONS to leave the SAME horrible cycle that we went in there to end in the first place.

When we leave Afghanistan it will be back under Taliban control in 2-5 years. All the Human Rights groups will be horribly upset but NO U.S. President will want to go back in there.
