The ME's testimony was literally creamed by the expert testimony of the defense, Dr. Vincent Di Maio.

First, the ME's testimony was terrible. If you watched it there was no way you could have come away thinking differently. The man looked like he had never testified in court before. Bumbling, fumbling, and ultimately, discredited.

Di Maio, OTOH, was in command.

He explained that he saw clear evidence of AT LEAST SIX IMPACTS on Zimmerman's head. He characterized them in excruciating detail as likely "the result of severe force", contradicting Rao's testimony straight on as well as that of Shipping Bao.

He pointed out that you "can have severe head trauma without any marks on the head." But he also showed how the various injuries on Z's head could not possibly have occurred with a single blow.
