Jane, here are three post numbers I'd like you to take a look at from this thread; 4471,4638,4839. Two have nothing to do with the subject, but one of them does, I just can't remember which one and I don't have time to look. The subject - what scripture means to any given person at any given time. Det. 28 says much about what will happen if one follows God, and what will happen if one does not, but I believe the key to does/doesn't is that one must first recognize that God IS in the first place otherwise the chapter means nothing.
The atheist/goddess thing: If you want to get your licks in then go to the thread where this debate WAS taking place. Hopefully "WAS" means past tense because I personally wish the whole debate would just go away. In that regard you're on your own. Not to say I don't agree with your point of view, but I want no more of it as far as the ruckus I think you may be refering to.
If you'd like to go to the thread then do so. I'll even introduce you. Would even go so far as to say that I would welcome you, but I will not involve myself any longer (hopefully) in the does HE or doesn't He exist debate any longer. Nine times out of ten it gets totally out of hand, and the only thing which does become lasting is an over all dislike for many people. In other words, more are driven from Christ then led to HIM.
Hope this was viewed by you in a non-confrontational manner. Just my opinion. Nothing to draw swords over or step off ten paces. And before I forget (as I am really late for work now) thanks to you and Shalom for stopping by "Tis the Season etc."
