I pretty much have a steadfast rule that if a position drops much below a 10% loss and stays there for a bit, I jettison it. Yes on occasion some stocks have bounced right back after my sale and I have regretted the decision. But with the rule, the decision isn't emotion based and I find taking the emotion out of the selling equation is beneficial for me.
So there in lies the reason I typically don't have much in carried losses to offset gains. It certainly isn't a result of always picking winners (lol)

I hope the crowd is right(seems to be consensus) , as I exchanged 1/2 my shares of PPL last week for shares in WEC. Added a few more shares of SIX as well.

Been doing a bit of midyear housekeeping.
