People could not take care of themselves in 1929. They were starving. Hoover was told to let the depression run as it would get rid of the dead wood. Same philosophy the pubs have today.

In 1929 people were suffering terribly.

So they elected FDR. FDR told his adviser Henry Hopson?, the first day, to go out and see what the people need and come back and tell me-----today!

That is why he was so beloved. He saved them. He created 8 million jobs in six months.

Before social security millions of people, mostly women lived in abject poverty.
