In fact, I have at times wished some insurance co. would offer an infinite deductible, i.e. they have zero exposure, but just charge me a few $100/year for a card with a membership number on it. It would be the club discount card. The insurance co would be a front for payment to the medical providers, but I would pay 100%.

Of course there isn't much incentive for the insurance co to offer such a service....
