I just shared my experience, and for me WD drives were too problematic. For people reading this I am talking about the 2.5 inch Passport WD USB 3 drives. The warranty replacement drive clicks. I don't use it as I don't trust it.

I bought another Passport USB 3 drive last year, and that one now clicks. I treat my drives very well.

The only drives that I trust my data to is Seagate. I had one Iomega drive die on me, a 1TB, I opened it up and it was a Toshiba hard drive in it. Another Iomega failed 500GB, I sent that back and they sent out a refurbished one. I use it, but stick to Seagate as they have never let me down.

I have 4 Seagate external drives, two USB 2 and two USB 3.
