To all, Based on the AT&T article, it sounds like wireless will find its way into home use, thus rendering the current wired system useless. Who knows the timing or the cost but think about it: NXTL's target market, mobile work groups, just got larger. I wonder what MOT's iDEN group is doing to develop this application and how it fits in with McCaw's current business plan. Obviously we're talking down the road. The questions are how far down the road and how much sooner will NXTL reach its "mature" size? Is NXTL a great opportunity or what?
To Al G, the great thing about technical analysis is that it works without knowing any of the underlying reasons for the market action. It matters not whether the seller is a former wife, unhappy mutual fund or you-name-it. All we ask the chart to tell us is when a particular move is over, or at least resting, and then we can make our move. (Or one can wait for confirmation as Ed suggested.) The issue is support and resistance and that's the ta enthusiast's key. My view is that since NXTL peaked at 32 the major reason for the stock's decline has been lack of buying, not aggressive selling. NXTL needs some exciting news to attract new buyers and to get existing holders to add to their positions. It will happen. Watch late January-early February very carefully.
