SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports enthusiasts looking for comprehensive,
up-to-the-minute information on their favorite sports from around the world need look no further.
Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO - news) today announced the launch of Yahoo! Sports
(http://sports.yahoo.com), formerly known as Yahoo! Scoreboard, offering comprehensive
information and coverage of sports leagues and sporting events around the globe, plus sortable stats
ideal for fantasy gamers. In addition to the scores and content originally found at Yahoo!
Scoreboard, the newly revamped Yahoo! Sports brings more depth and breadth of information,
including original content from The Sporting News (http://www.sportingnews.com), events, timely
scores and statistics from SportsTicker(R), top stories of the day, player profiles and more.

''Currently sports is one of the most popular areas of the Yahoo! service. By bringing together a
broader variety of sports programming in one place, Yahoo! Sports now offers users a true
one-stop source to find all of the news, stats, scores and information they want,'' said Tonya
Antonucci, producer of Yahoo! Sports. ''In addition, we've created the ideal medium for
advertisers and best-of-breed content providers alike to reach large, targeted audiences on the
Web.''

Find It All in One Place

Yahoo! Sports now features a dynamic front page that includes timely scores and standings from
SportsTicker for leagues in season, top stories of the day and an upcoming events calendar
(including Net Events) for international and domestic sports. The new front page includes links to
different sports categories, making it easy for users to navigate to their favorite sports or league
pages. Expanding upon the pre-existing relationship with The Sporting News, Yahoo! Sports also
provides team pages and player bios for the NBA, NHL, NFL, Major League Baseball (MLB),
Division 1 college football and college basketball. The team pages provide analysis of game action,
player movement and injuries and other team happenings from The Sporting News local beat
reporters along with SportsTicker scores, team schedules and standings, daily notes and links to
official team Web sites and other team resources from Yahoo!. With the addition of the local team
reports, users can now track their favorite teams along with the comprehensive information and
services provided by Yahoo!. Player bios for the Big Four sports feature player statistics, career
notes and personal information.

Expanded Football Coverage

In anticipation of an exciting NFL post-season and great college bowl game lineups, Yahoo! Sports
offers users expanded football coverage with team pages that include behind-the-scenes game and
league analysis. In addition, in-depth NFL sortable stats from SportsTicker include comprehensive
game-by-game statistics for every player in the NFL -- ideal for those individuals that indulge in
fantasy football leagues. Yahoo! Sports also offers team pages on every Division I college football
team as well as conference pages featuring news, Web resources, standings and a weekly, local
roundup report.
