40 or 50 years is a long time and the underlying environment changes... for example in one time and place unions, regulating pollution, food supply, civil rights, or business practices of one sort or another seems silly, in another time and place people have died without them.

What the "good old day" types dont realize is that in the past we were blessed with essentially unlimited resources to use... including trees (wood/paper) air or water, land, etc etc. They aren't "free" any more... the underlying cost of the way we live is exploding because the "substrate" is no longer free, although we like to pretend it is, and the RWingNutz claim it still is.... despite obvious hard facts to the contrary.

There is nothing to be worried about... you just have to be flexible. As forms of life, including our society, advances they become more and more specialized and reliant on other life... period. The idiots that don't get the basic laws of life and biology are doomed to depression and unhappiness. They think they don't need anyone else, or co-operation with others... including agreed on regulations so that one dopey a-hole doesn't pollute the whole lake. This basic fact of life is like a bee thinking flowers shouldn't be using it's water... just idiotic.

WingNutz thinking they know best to the extent that they are willing to shut down the system is like the heart deciding the Kidney's are evil and need their blood supply cut off.... they have NO clue, and are willing to kill everyone including themselves for some dopey dogmatic idea.
