Go on any conservative thread- you'll find most of the folks are old farts swilling down medicare and social security, and they'll swear they "earned" it all- and they're 100% against "socialists". Freaking takers. It wouldn't be so bad if they just fessed up to being takers and expressed a little love for the government that was supporting their wrinkled old asses, but they don't. It's the hypocrisy that annoys me most- their greed is understandable given our system. But having a "for profit" system with the government picking up the tab is just stupid. Single payer, with decent wages, and no shareholders or overpriced CEO's is the way to go. Or we go to just for profit and let people die- unless they can beg a church to care for them. I'm for the first option- but mixing the two just gives us the worst of both.
