George, I really appreciate some of your comments, but don't really consider my idealism bereft of factual support. I don't write anything that is presented as factual without doing research, and I try to keep very clear the difference between that and my OPINIONS.
Unfortunately, people like Jim Barrett apparently NEVER do any research, or back their outlandish statements with any facts at all, and that is what makes them seem ignorant. If Jim would just cite a url supporting his position that in the American South, no one considered slaves to be human beings, it would be refreshing, since he never seems to do much here except blow hot air. Since we have freedom of speech in this country, and on this thread, though, there is not much you can do with people who want to make an utter fools of themselves except to struggle to suffer them gladly, or something like that!!! |
