>Actually, I don't remember you saying anything about the sequester, except that (a) it's too harsh and (b) it's too big relative to the aid we give Egypt.

I was talking about in previous posts over the last few weeks.

>Why not? He wields the most amount of influence in Washington. If he can direct the State Dept. to withhold and suspend aid to Egypt, he can then free up $1.5B/year for whatever he wants, e.g. more teachers.

>Saying that he can't is indeed plain denial.

No, it's reality. It's why he hasn't been able to close Gitmo. And if he could unilaterally decide to spend $1.5 billion on education, he could do it just as easily by borrowing. But it's not something he can do. As much as you guys scream "DICTATOR!!!!!" he isn't one.

>The subject of this particular thread of discussion is Egypt. If this isn't high on your "list," then you're free to drop it. Personally, I think you're only trying to drop it because you're not doing a very good job countering my impression that Egypt is one of many examples of Obama's incompetence.

No, it really just isn't. You're free to think what you want. If I believed he was incompetent on the issue, I'd say so. He certainly hasn't been competent everywhere -- HAMP, Wall Street, several cabinet appointments, just to name a few. But the next President we have that's even close to competent everywhere will be our first.

>>I say $1.5 billion is just a "drop in the bucket" and you laugh at it.

>That's right, I did, and I explained why. It's yet another denial of yours.

I deny that you can do basic math.
