As I understand it, each child's reading level is assessed once per year, at the beginning of the subscription, so the book lists for that child (id) would only be useful to other kids at the same reading level. I do think they can change their interests though, so they could just input different interests and see what lists come up for their friends.

There is nothing to stop kids from sharing book lists or (maybe) generating lists for friends at the same reading level, but I'm not sure that is a big problem. The service seems to be aimed at parents who want to identify good reading material and enroll their kids in a plan that encourages them to read. Of course, the grey market kids won't be able to get rewards, and lending your id to someone else might result in their taking book quizes that would hurt your own chances of getting a reward.

Just my take on it.
