Elliot,
Yeah, as sometimes happens, it has gone very quiet. Sometimes I think that this thing gets ignored when other, bigger name tech stocks are hot. I'd like to find out if Dahlia is talking with any other investment analysts, and if so, how close they are to coming out with their recommendation.
As for it being old news, I don't know...it is not that old. Mine has a "revised" date of November 14, 1997. For those who have not done so, it still is good to read. Anybody thinking of investing in this company will get a great deal of comfort in making the investment after reading the report. It really paints a nice picture, and Oppenheimer states that their rosy picture is based upon "conservative estimates" in their analysis. I expect to have another good year next year, as the word slowly gets out on this company and they continue to grow. I wish it was moving higher at a faster clip, but a +100% move in a year is not bad, not bad at all. The other thing I consider is how highly reliable I consider the future of this company, and therefore the stock price. There are thousands of companies out there to review, but my experience is that it is difficult to REALLY track more than a couple. I have some that I have very limited belief in, based upon my experience following them. Then there are those few companies in which I TRUELY feel comfortable in commiting a very large amount of money. New D is one of them. If that means I don't land a ten-bagger every time out of the gate, OK. But it does mean that I ought to beat the market, and in fact already have. I am highly confident that over the next couple of years I will continue to do so with New D as my primary vehicle. That gives me a comfort (and success) that I can rely upon, as opposed to try and play the disk drive or chip makers for a bounce, or try to catch the next biotech or internet play.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts. I like the idea of putting a lot money where I can have a lot of confidence, rather than try to impress my friends with how many little needles in the haystack I can find.
Now, after my sidebar, I have not talked to the company recently. I probably will in the next couple of days, just to see if there is anything new they can share with me. I'll let you know. By the way, there are message boards for a lot of stocks on Yahoo. I put in a request to have one for New D, but don't know if they will create one. It would probably help if others request it as well. Later.
