Be sure to do your DD and ask questions. I'd recommend making reservations at all of the stops you plan to make. We got lucky at a few stops, but if I'd not had my smartphone and made calls, we would have been camping on the side of the road in some places. Monument Valley is a must see, and Gouldings is the only campground for miles. It fills up fast. If you go, take a guided tour.
