Other George Zimmerman trial jurors speak out against Juror B37
Juror B37 has faced tremendous backlash since breaking her silence after George Zimmerman was acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin. She signed with a literary agent with the hopes for a book deal and she appeared on “Anderson Cooper 360.”
During the episode, B37 showed a tremendous amount of empathy for Zimmerman by saying, “George Zimmerman feared for his life”; “George Zimmerman is a man whose heart was in the right place”: and “I feel sorry for George because of the situation he got himself in.”
However, other jurors in the trial have distanced themselves from Juror B37. In a statement, Jurors B51, B76, E6 and E40 said “The opinions of Juror B37, expressed on the Anderson Cooper show were her own, and not in any way representative of the jurors [B51, B76, E6 and E40] Serving on this jury has been a highly emotional and physically draining experience for each of us,” the statement said. “The death of a teenager weighed heavily on our hearts but in the end we did what the law required us to do.” |
