You are probably right, but I have never camped in Missouri because I lived there.
After 20 years of chasing rats in Dallas, we moved to Branson, 27 years ago and never looked back. We thoroughly enjoy the country.

And yes, if we camp in MO, it's almost like camping in your back yard. Our daughter and SIL and grandkids though, work, and when we camp with them, it's nearby; generally on one of the Corps of Engineer places around Table Rock Lake. Most of them are on the water, but only have water and electricity.
