My point, which you missed was that liberals have always had it hard as they have opposed societies antiquated norms and mores.

The counter culture kids (liberals) of the 60's were terrible ostracized.

Liberals in the south who did not like segregation said so openly at the risk of their life.

Liberals during the Dark Ages were tortured and put to death.

Liberals anywhere in the middle east voice their opinions at the risk of their life.

a liberal kid in a Mormon family will not fare well, etc.
